Conference: Together with Prof. Justin Kennemur (Florida State University), Prof. Junpeng Wang (University of Akron), and Prof. Yutan Getzler (Kenyon College), Dr. Sun co-organized the inaugural ROP/RCD symposium in the ACS Spring 2024 National Meeting & Exposition. In addition to enjoying the insightful talks from experts in the field, Dr. Sun also presented our lab's recent research on degradable and depolymerizable polymer materials produced via ROMP.

Research Grant: Dr. Sun received his first NSF grant by the Launching Early-Career Academic Pathways in the Mathematical and Physical Sciences (LEAPS-MPS) program. Student Graduation: Farbod was awarded a Master of Science degree in Chemistry at UNH. He will join the University of Notre Dame as a PhD student in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering. Congrats Farbod! We will miss you.
Research Grant: Dr. Sun received a UNH Summer Research Grant ($3,250 for summer 2023) and a UNH research fund ($2,000 for 2023-2024). Those internal grants will be used to support UNH student research in developing biomass-derived degradable polymer materials.

Journal Highlight: Dr. Sun was selected as an emerging researcher by Journal of Polymer Science. [Link]
Research Grant: Dr. Sun received a NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium (NASA-CTSGC) Faculty Research Grant ($10,000 for 2023-2024). This fund will support two UNH students by providing them valuable hands-on research experience in developing self-healing polymer materials for NASA’s space-related applications. [Link]
Student Award: Congrats to our graduate student Katie Durkee for winning a NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium (NASA-CTSGC) Graduate Research Award. Together with Dr. Sun, Katie will develop self-healing polymers from biomass resources for space related applications.
Student Award: Congrats to our sophomore student Hayat Khan for winning the highly competitive UNH Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)! Hayat will conduct undergraduate research under Dr. Sun's mentorship in summer 2023.
